”
I am a metalsmith. I create one of a kind, larger than life, highly detailed metal insects. Each complex, nature perfect sculpture incorporates gold, silver, enamel and gemstones in its construction.
The works reflect the intricacy, the complexity and the order inherent in nature. I relish the visible, yet can imagine much more; which gives rise to the construction of secret spaces containing their treasure that I create within each piece. The decorative details reveal another layer of information, evoking elements of insect life, lore and environment. ”

When you hear the term “land art”, you may scratch your head and wonder just exactly what this means. Swiss artist Sylvain Meyer is an amazing exponent of this art, using the very earth itself as his canvas. Found elements of nature form the paint which he then applies to his natural canvases, resulting in work that is wonderfully integrated into nature, and apart from being extremely eco-friendly, is as breathtaking as it is beautiful.

data.anatomy [civic] is a new audiovisual installation by the acclaimed Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda, arising from a unique collaboration with Mitsuru Kariya, the development leader of the new Honda Civic car. Exhibited as a 3-screen video projection, data.anatomy [civic] immerses viewers in an intricate yet vast audiovisual composition derived from the entire data set of the car.
It opened at MUMA (Kraftwerk) Berlin on April 19th 2012.
The aesthetic experience offered by Ikeda is built from his abstraction of the initial intricacy present in the makeup of the vehicle. The artist notes, ‘a civic consists of thousands and thousands of tiny, tiny parts, but I saw a certain beauty in that. it’s like a human , there are so many organs in it and that inspired me. My installation will reveal the richness and beauty of the ephemeral concepts that are embodied physically in the car itself’.

Corrie White is a water drop photography passionate by mixing macro shots with figures made of liquids creating experiences that are usually invisible to the human eye.
” I have made some discoveries in water drop photography, one of them being the unique three drop splash as in “Tiny Dancer”. Another is multiple exposures in water drops. This is where the drops are falling in the same area but while I am panning the camera, I can get more than one splash in the same frame, such as my “Liquid Flowers”. I pushed the drip kit to the limits by creating a splash with a bubble-type base caused by an extra large drop as in “Suspended”. I have combined soap film and water drops simultaneously as well as the water drop/liquid flow combo as you see in “Coral Sea Dreaming”. One method I started using was to color white milk splashes using colored gels on the flash guns which made some very colorful forms. I’m always looking for the unique and trying to come up with something that has never been done before. ”
